GSM Automotive Wins Teknek's “Oldest Machine” Award
Teknek is delighted to announce GSM Automotive as the winner of “Oldest Machine Special” prize in our recent Serial Number Competition, recognizing their ownership of the oldest operational Teknek cleaning machine, a CMiii from 1994.
This remarkable unit, which played a vital role in GSM’s production processes for decades, exemplifies the reliability and effectiveness of Teknek’s contact cleaning technology.
Reuben, an experienced print specialist at GSM, reflected on the machine's impact:
“For years, we struggled with contamination issues in the print room, dust and debris causing rejects and downtime. Initially, we cleaned sheets by hand, but the results weren’t great. When the Teknek cleaning machine arrived, it transformed everything. Cleaning became effortless and far more effective. It worked brilliantly on polycarbonate, stainless steel, and aluminium sheets, drastically reducing defects and improving our output.”
Recognizing the machine’s exceptional legacy, Stephen Mitchell, Teknek’s Managing Director, made a special offer: to swap the veteran unit with a recent demo model, giving the trusted CMiii a well-deserved retirement in Teknek’s Contact Cleaning Technology Museum. This generous offer was warmly accepted by GSM Automotive’s Stephen Vaughan, Production Lead, and Tony Emery, Manufacturing Manager.
The new replacement unit will soon be shipped to GSM’s facility in Poland, where it will continue Teknek’s legacy of improving yields and boosting efficiency.
A Testament to Longevity and Innovation
This competition highlights the durability and impact of Teknek’s equipment in solving contamination challenges while enhancing productivity. GSM Automotive’s story underscores the enduring value of Teknek’s solutions and our commitment to supporting customers’ evolving needs.
We congratulate GSM Automotive on this well-deserved recognition and look forward to seeing the new machine in action at their Polish site!
