Nepcon Shenzhen will be used to unveil the latest version of the Teknek SMT clean machine.
With a stated goal of Zero Defects – Zero Rework, Teknek has been hard at work solving customers problems.
Not only do the leading electronics assembly companies want great cleaning they demand that its carried out in a low static environment. A maximum of 200 volts was required some years ago, ANSI/ESD 20.20 requires <100 volts. However, increasingly as boards shrink the damage that can be caused by ESD and EOS increases.
Teknek has responded and shows new cleaning rollers and adhesives which are the subject of several patents. NanoNT and NanoEH are two brand new elastomers developed by Teknek for this sector. To complete them our Gold and Silver Adhesive ranges are modified and improved to allow them to work well with the new cleaning rollers.
Now typical static levels within the machine are in the 10-30 volts range. For some applications using this new technology, static elimination at the exit of the machine may no longer be required. For some very static sensitive applications some ionising devices such as static bars can themselves cause EOS events.
The machines provide in line board cleaning and are typically used after laser marking or before solder paste. All the new developments meet or exceed the requirements of ANSI/ESD s20.20.
